Detalles // Details

Sometimes when you are talking with someone you skip some details to make it easier to understand but, what happens when we skip the details even when the other person is someone interested in it and every point is even more important?

We could make an incredible damage to all people.

Let’s use an example so we can talk about it a few more lines. Let’s talk about P2P.

If you read some important webpages, P2P is known just as a piracy tool, and they talk about it as it has no other use. They talk about it just like an enemy to kill.

What’s wrong? They just missed the details. P2P is an information exchanging technology. It can exchange any kind of information. What does that mean? If you are planning to live without paying anything thanks to piracy, you can do it.

But some people forgets about other kind of uses for P2P. Warner Bros and BBC uses P2P technologies to broadcast movies and tv series, Konami uses it to publish the Metal Gear Online patches and updates and so on.

They are trying to eliminate the P2P just because it can be used against the companies but there is a misunderstanding around this. They don’t realize the difference between the means and the crimes. Just think about banning the cars just because some people uses it to move illegal things.

Would you do it? One more, would you be surprised if they let you use the cars but they have to inspect it regulary?

What do you think they are gonna do when they realize that P2P is not the real problem but the information that is being exchanged? They are going to inspect it for sure, that's the only way they have to feel “safe” while they “allow” us to use this technology.
